JESS + LEWIS

A Family Wedding - Holt Lodge Hotel
Jess and Lewis' wedding was a truly heartwarming celebration of love and family. The couple's two young children, aged one and three, were central to the day, and it was clear to see that this was not just a marriage of two people, but of a whole family. As their videographer, I had the privilege of capturing all the special moments of their day.
Pre-Wedding Preparation
The day began in the deluxe suite at Holt Lodge, where Jess and her bridesmaids were getting ready. The atmosphere was lovely and excited, with customised champagne flutes and t-shirts for the wedding party. Jess' daughter was particularly excited to put on her dress, even asking some entertaining questions about her own marriage propects. Her father's reaction was equally heartwarming, with a high-pitched "wooohooo" that echoed through the suite. I captured some beautiful shots of Jess' jewellery, which included a necklace featuring Lewis' name, as well as the names of their two children.
Ceremony Highlights
The ceremony took place at the beautiful Gresford Church, with Jess' brother Dean officiating as the vicar. His message about the importance of choosing to love each other every day was a powerful reminder of the commitment that Jess and Lewis were making. During the vows, there was a beautiful moment when Jess misheard the line she was supposed to repeat and directly questioned her brother in a very ‘sisterly tone’ - “According to what?”, which added a humorous touch to the ceremony.
Later on, there was a funny moment when Dean brought out a long selfie stick to take a selfie with the whole congregation. The ceremony was a true representation of the union of this new family, with Jess and Lewis' children coming to sit on their knees during the later stages of the ceremony.
Reception Details
The reception was held in a beautiful room at Holt Lodge, with big windows and long tables named after some of the couple's favourite bands. There were heartfelt speeches from the father of the bride, best man, maid of honour, and the groom. I was able to capture some lovely moments during the first dance, cake cutting, and lots of great dancing. It was especially heartwarming to see Jess and Lewis relaxing on the outdoor furniture with their children, enjoying their time as a new family.
Behind the Scenes
While I always aim to get the perfect shots for my clients, it was clear that Jess and Lewis wanted a more relaxed approach to their wedding video. They didn't want too many formal shots of the two of them, so I stayed away from the slow-motion montages of kisses on bridges. I focused on capturing the real feeling of the day, which was all about celebrating the joy of a new family and spending time with friends. I caught lots of close interactions between Jess and Lewis and their kids, as well as lots of genuine fun and laughter from the guests.
The Video
It was a pleasure to be part of such a warm and joyful occasion, and I was thrilled to be able to capture it all on film.
